Spread sunshine

This card is for World-wide Stamping Week, Sum up Summer and Black Cat Matte challenges. The summer challenge is to do a summery card and use the colours of a summer sunset. The Black Cat Matte challenge is to use a black mat on your card (I used two).

This silhouette stamp makes me think of summer. The background was made with Distress Stains (Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade) smeared on my craft sheet in three stripes, from light to dark. Watercolour paper was misted with water before being dipped into the inks. Then the paper was die-cut and the stamp was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossed. I die cut a second panel from black cardstock, cut it in two and placed to form a mat for the first panel. Using the larger Baroque die, the pink panel was die-cut from Core’dinations paper, embossed and sanded. For the background I used a scrap of yellow watercolour paper, stamping the background stamp with Spiced Marmalade.

Thank you for looking!
